Dr. István Rozsos Ph.D MBA
Surgeon, Vascular Surgeon Specialist
Dr. István Rozsos graduated in 1984 from the University of Pécs Medical School, where he began his career at the Department of Surgery, I. Surgical Clinic. He earned his surgical specialization in 1988 and his vascular surgery specialization in 1991.
In 1995, he participated in the reorganization and leadership of the Department of Surgery, remaining in this role until 2005. In 2001, he obtained a Ph.D. degree.
In 2005, he chose to pursue a career in private medical practice but remained an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pécs until 2020.
In 2008, he earned an MBA degree from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs.
Until July 2022, he worked at the Theta Center in Pécs and in Budapest.
Currently, he works as a vascular surgeon at the Theta Pest Center in Budapest.
In 2005, he was the first in the country to perform the now widely accepted LASER-ASSISTED VARICOSE VEIN SURGERY. He has since performed thousands of successful procedures.
In 2018, he was also the first outside China to carry out the MICROWAVE surgery for varicose veins, a procedure that is recognized worldwide. He currently performs THERMOCOAGULATION for varicose veins and hemorrhoid surgeries using Laser and Microwave Devices.
In addition to his clinical work, he held regular vascular surgery consultations at the Siklós Hospital from August 2005 to August 30, 2022.
He regularly gives advanced training lectures on venous diseases and diabetic foot care.
In 2022, he was awarded the Best Publication of the Year by the journal Vascular Diseases.
His professional work has gained international recognition through invitations to conferences.
He has participated as an invited speaker at the Egyptian Venous Forum, the Bologna Venous Congress, the ECO-Microwave Therapeutic World Congress in China, and the World Venous Congress in Miami.
Together with his colleagues (Dr. László Mecseky and Dr. Gergely Vadász), he developed the Vascular Limb App (MEROVA Method) for more effective prevention and treatment of minor leg ulcers. This application is still available for free download in virtual stores for smartphones and has been successfully used to support both collegial and patient education. To date, the application has helped 14,500 patients and more than 300 doctors and healthcare professionals.
In 2023, he was awarded the Richter Merit Medal.
In November 2023, the 7th volume of the Diabetes Foot series was published under the title Foot Notes 6th Book for Pedicurists and All Good-Willed Foot Care Providers.
